The Story about this Public Liability Claim

Steve came to our office after suffering injuries from a fall on a footpath. What was unusual was that the footpath was right in front of his house! He had been complaining to the council for years about the footpath being lifted, and it had been fixed once before. The problem however remained – the large tree on the council nature strip in front of his house was sending out roots under the footpath lifting it up. Steve was pretty aware and took photos when the footpath was again repaired after his accident. The large roots were quite visible, but again the council did not do what was really needed, erect a tree root barrier. Steve’s injuries were quite serious and we were able to convince the council, through their lawyers, that compensation should be fairly paid to Steve. Steve wrote to us afterwards and said:
