The Story about this Public Liability Claim

John was attending to a local shopping centre, and was entering through the main doors, which are your typical side opening large glass doors used these days.  Unknown to him was that right behind the glass doors was a mat, a truly worn out mat that had raised edges all over the place. John was looking into the centre and did not notice the raised edges until after he took a nasty tumble. He suffered a significant back injury and came to see us about compensation. We inspected the site, advised he should win, and set about to issue proceedings against those responsible. We faced quite bit of antagonism to the claim, but to us it seemed quite simple – the mat should have been replaced ages ago. We won for John in the end, and he kindly wrote these words for us:

I tripped on an 'industrial mat' in the local shopping precinct, falling heavily on the tiled floor.
