The Story about this TAC Claim
Mick and Anne Hiom reside in the UK and whilst on a motorcycle holiday in Australia, riding from Sydney to Perth were involved in a serious collision on the Great Ocean Road. A truck turned right immediately in front of them causing them to T Bone the vehicle. The driver was subsequently prosecuted for dangerous driving and had apparently not seen them as he had been on the phone.
Mick was intubated at the scene his head, neck and facial injuries being life threatening, indeed it was only by pure chance that a theatre nurse and doctor who witnessed the accident kept him alive until the air ambulance arrived. Mick and Anne were airlifted to the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne for treatment where Mick spent 5 weeks in ICU, the majority of this time on life support before being transferred to the Caulfield Brain Injury Unit for rehab.
Fortunately Anne who had been pillion passenger suffered only minor physical injuries although the mental trauma is something that will never leave her memory. Several months later on return to the UK they instructed a firm of lawyers to pursue a claim for damages. It was this firm that subsequently referred Mick’s case to Michael Constable at Henry Carus to take the matter through to conclusion.
Actual Client Testimonial.
From the moment we had contact with Michael he was professional, compassionate and efficient in all aspects. The fact that we reside in the UK didn’t at any time cause a problem, even with an 11 hour time difference emails were always dealt with the same working day, calls arranged at convenient times to suit us and most importantly Michael always had the time to explain procedures to us in a way which never left any doubt about what was happening.
Mick’s claim has just been settled with a very satisfactory outcome and whilst it has been a long journey we cannot thank Michael enough for all his hard work and would have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone. 5* service, thank you!
